The Unforgotten Song...by ~yashigirl09

i started drawing this a while back, but put it down and forgot to finished it

then one day i was look through my sketchbooks and looking through some old works that i did, i found my resent sketchbook and saw this zidane x dagger fan art. i thought "holy crap, i really need to finish this!"

how can i not!? the scene illustrates when zidane heard a beautiful voice that was the same one from the village of dali. he sneaks past the guard to find himself in at the top of the tower. there he finds dagger singing to herself. when zidane asked dagger to sing the song to him, i imagined that zidane sitting on the edge of the balcony listening to the sound of dagger's beautiful voice.

i think that's what made him fall for her not only because of her personality, but the beauty in dagger's voice, and even though she loses that voice for a short period of time, zidane will still stick by her no mater what.

so i finally finished the fan art, and i hope you'll love it

done in pen and ink and edited in coral painter and photoshop.

I still remember when I played up to the moment in Lindblum where Zidane came up to the tower trying to find Garnet. As soon as I heard her singing come on, I stopped Zidane beside the staircase, turned up the TV volume, and started singing along... to this day, I still remember the Melodies of Life.

This brings back all those memories like a flood and goes to show what fairy tale love looks like, in a real fairy tale like Final Fantasy IX... I say thank you. This is absolutely heartwarming and makes me think of a scene where Zidane and Garnet maybe sang it together...

Maybe, one day.

well i didn't want to enclose the work, i want the work to have negative space in the background so i could make the piece work as a whole. but you maybe right, the piece may have a tad too much negative space. thanks for the advice
